I've never been real confident telling pale female Oregon from Pink-sided Juncos, but thanks to Debby Parker and Kristie Nelson, I've finally seen one that meets all the requirements. I didn't realize until today how extensive and 'pink' the flank color would be. The photographed bird was in a flock of juncos (~50 Oregon, 2 Slate-colored) 300 ft downstream of the Millpond concession shack, on the east side of the stream, downstream of the campsites. The flock has been there for a couple's worth a check. Thanks Kristie and Debby for directions!
