On april 8 at Crowley lake (by the mouth of Owen's R) there were 3 black-bellied plovers, a couple caspian terns, lots of avocets (they were mostly in the alkali ponds. 4 BN stilts. Tjhousands of gulls are swarming the Benton xing dump (virtually all callies). They bathe and rest in a pond behind the dump, which also had 8 LB dowitchers. Laural pond had acouple more LB dowitchers.
April 10, at the end of the boardwalk at county park, myself, Justin Hite, and Satiago E. saw a couple dozen or so least sandpipers, and 3 Baird's along with them. Already time for spring shorebird transients!! We also saw a gorgeous yellowthroat, sora, and heard virginia rails.
