I caught it with material. It would stand like a Giacometti, all still and skinny legs, for several minutes (though it was in the wide open on skeletal crisped tamarisks), fly to the next perch, repeat, until it flew to the nest site, where I saw its mate. Some arrivals include a Western Wood-pewee singing (the 19th), Yellow-breasted Chats (18th), female cowbirds (19th), and Cassin's Vireos (16th). There was an American Crow at China Ranch on Sunday.
