The scrub jays in Southern California were always very quiet while they were nesting. Therefore, I didn't think anything of it when my husband complained about not seeing Steller's jays when we camped at Grant's Grove, King's Canyon National Park and visited Sequoia NP. I think I heard two Stellar's jays during the week we were there. However, now I am wondering about it.
